Population census

The 2024 Population Census is now based on a new ‘register-based’ calculation method, which involves bringing together the various existing databases and information systems (Civil Status and Nationality Department of Monaco City Hall, Police Department, Department of Education, Youth and Sport, Department of Forward Studies, Urban Planning and Mobility and State Property Authority).

This new method makes it possible to calculate changes in each of these data items every year, without having to conduct an exhaustive survey, which until now has been carried out every 8 years.
