World Statistics Day

Monaco, 20 October 2015 – As part of World Statistics Day, held by the UN on the general theme of "Better Data.  Better Lives.," IMSEE (the Monegasque Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies) organised a conference with two objectives: 

-          to raise awareness of key players in Monegasque society:  "Collecting, structuring and archiving data regularly and consistently helps shape our future society," recalled Lionel Galfré, Director of IMSEE;

-          to show how high-quality data can serve society.

IMSEE invited speakers from a various fields, including health and scientific research, to testify to the importance placed upon the quality of data and show the usefulness of such data in their respective sectors.

This conference was also an opportunity to present the census of the population that will take place in 2016.
